What are the key reasons why Mind Mapping doesn’t always deliver results?
Traditional Mind Mapping is an excellent technique for learning and summarising subjects. It enables easier memory recall and helps develop understanding.
It can become frustrating though when you:
- have a large amount of information that doesn't fit on one sheet of A4 paper
- have to rewrite your entire map because there is no space for further elaboration on an earlier point
- see that your map has become messy and difficult to interpret
- can't share the information with colleagues as they are unable to understand your handwritten map
Additionally, the focus with traditional mind mapping has always been on getting information into your head for study or learning whereas when you map electronically, it can also be a valuable technique to get information out of your head and to really explore and think through projects and tasks.
The MindGenius approach and application helps you to gain a deeper understanding on any given subject, issue or task. You will be able to quickly create your maps in a reusable format, get through more work in a shorter period of time and share your thinking and ideas with colleagues.
Mindmapping enables me to think much more expansively and creatively than linear methods of recording and organizing information. Mindgenius gives me this wonderful tool on the computer, so that I can build a map containing a whole project. Large maps are easy to manage and use with the outline navigator. Adding new ideas is as easy as thinking them. Colors, shapes, and layouts are flexible and can reflect moods from businesslike to wildly creative.
